Giggle Giggle

It makes me giggle a bit (just a bit) when I read or hear someone who teaches right thinking saying they are “sick and tired” of something.  When people use language like that it tells me there is some level of disconnect between what they teach and what they think.

Often when I see this it is just marketing, playing on your fears.  They are describing their own emotional reaction to something they think you are also emotionally reacting to.  They are trying to build rapport through a common bond – a common sales tactic I have used myself selling life insurance and securities.  You are not alone in whatever ails you and that, they think, creates the common bond which in turn makes it easier for them to sell you something.  We usually like people who are like us, even if the similarities are the negatives we feel and experience.  We buy from people we like.

But think about this… someone is going to try to sell you something to teach you how to not be sick and tired of things, yet they are sick and tired of things?  Isn’t that like your parents telling you as a child not to smoke and drink as they smoke and drink in front of you?

It is my understanding that when you reach a certain level of awareness (or awakening) things outside of your own thoughts and focus do not make you sick and tired.  In fact, to me they kind of pass unnoticed or at least without the effect of making you sick and tired.

Of course, since I’ve noticed this and brought it to your attention means I may have just pulled you and I one step in the wrong direction.  Maybe.  I am by no means sick and tired of the hypocrisy but it sure does give me a giggle.


Turning Sadness Into Joy

How to turn the corner when you lose someone you love.

A few years ago my wife and I traveled to Chicago to see Esther, Jerry, and Abraham at a day-long seminar and it was an amazing experience.

I still listen to Jerry, Esther, and Abraham every week as part of my continuing education on feeling and sharing joy and love in life.

When we heard the other day that Jerry Hicks has left the physical world it hit me.  The sadness.  My wife said she got goose bumps when I told her.  Jerry’s physical presence in this life added so much value and gave so much more life to so many people searching for answers just as Jerry had done when he met Abraham many years ago.

No matter what we’ve learned on what we are and what really happens when we “die” it hits you with a touch of sadness to know that you can’t reach out and physically touch Jerry Hicks any more.

I know what it means to walk in life next to someone you love – someone who brings more life to life.  I know what it would mean to me to lose my wife, so I have a good idea what Esther must have felt to have him go.

At a time like this you really just want to lay down and cry.

My feeling is that it is okay to just lay down and cry.  Feel the sadness for the loss.  Say the things you would have said if he were there in front of you.  Thank you Jerry, for bringing more life to life.

Have your cry, then get up and turn that sadness into joy.  Know that Jerry is always as close as your willingness to think and feel.  You can always know he is right there nearby when Abraham speaks.  You can always still feel him bringing more life to life and smile as you feel the joy of his sharing.

Jerry is physically gone from this world but he will never be gone from life itself.

Do You Like What You See

Life is a mirror.   The mirror never lies.  Do you like what you see?

Since we attract what we experience through our thoughts and actions, and since there is a time delay before you will see evidence of your current thoughts and actions, you can say that your life reflects your past thoughts and actions.  Life is a mirror reflecting back your past thoughts and actions. That’s basic Law of Attraction stuff.

You can and you should use your mirror to judge IF you need to adjust your thoughts and actions.

  • If you are experiencing the things you love, keep thinking and doing what you are thinking and doing and you will keep experiencing the things you love.  Be grateful and keep on keeping on.
  • If you are not experiencing the things you love you can see that just by looking at your life and being honest about what you see.

Are your relationships loving and supportive, and is this what you want from them?   Are your living conditions comfortable and safe, and is this what you want from them?   Is your financial experience abundant and giving, and is this what you want from it?  Do you even know what you want?

We don’t all want the same things.  Knowing what you want will help you know if the pictures in the mirror of your life are what you want to see.  Not knowing what you want causes confusion when you look.  Not knowing what you want leaves you at the mercy of whims and fads and other people’s perception of what you should see.

The only thing you should see in the mirror of your life is what you want to see.  There is no such thing as “that’s the way it goes.”  If you don’t like the way it’s going you have the power to change it.

The mirror never lies.  The only falseness to the picture is the lies you tell yourself about what you see.

Know what you want.  Be honest when you look at what you are getting.  Be grateful for what you are getting.  Be willing to do something different to make a change.  It all beings with thought.  It all comes from inside you.

You can do this.  Begin at once.

Always Only Now

Your understanding of the concept of time (a man-made illusion) is important to your ability to create with intentional use of the Law of Attraction.  It effects how you think and speak and act.

This is what I understand about the concept of time:  there is only now.

As odd as that sounds, that’s it.  Now.

  • If you look back at the past you are doing it now.
  • If you look forward to tomorrow you are doing it now.

It is always, only now.  This is where your power is.  Right here, now.

Now is the only time you can do anything.  You can’t do something yesterday.  If you want to do something tomorrow when you are doing it, it will be now.  Now is the only time you can do anything.  All your power is here, now.

You can only have a thought now – you can only have a better thought now.

You can only act now – you can only take inspired action (acting to receive) now.

You can only feel love now – you can feel love all day, every day, and you will always feel love now.

You can only become aware now.

There is a saying by Henry David Thoreau, “Never look back unless you are planning to go that way.”  That means the past is the past.  That means creating your best life isn’t in the past.  That means your power is here, now.  That means a lot of things that all point in the direction what you want which is always right here, now.

What’s Love Got To Do With It

When you listen to someone explain how the Law of Attraction works they will say like attracts like.  That means your vibration attracts circumstances and experiences with a vibration that matches your vibration.

There is an even better way that really explains how the Law of Attraction works:  Love Attracts Love

It is an undeniable truth: love is the best vibration you can hold.  Love is the truest expression of positive energy that exists anywhere in the universe.  There is no other way to better match yourself to the vibration of what you desire.  Love is the truest expression of Spirit.

Anywhere you find the Law of Attraction working in an intentional, purposeful way, in a way that is attracting what is desired, you will find love.  The law of attraction and love go hand in hand in the creation, attraction process.

Love is the feeling part of the creation process.  You will attract what you think about and feel about.  Since there is no better  feeling – no greater expression of positive energy or vibration than love, love has everything to do with it.

If You Want To See It, Stop Looking

Many years ago when I first read about the Law of Attraction I immediately dismissed it as BS.  I put down the books and went back to looking outside of myself for the things I wanted.  I’m sure a lot of people do the same thing, and unfortunately many of those people will never see that the Law of Attraction is the truth about life.  It is one of the natural laws of the Universe just like the law of gravity, just like the law of growth.  It is an inescapable truth that always has been and always will be.

I was fortunate in that I kept searching for answers.  Even though I didn’t know it then, the very thing I dismissed (the Law of Attraction) was what brought me the answers I sought.  Funny how that works.

Fast forward many years.  More and more people were writing and talking about the law of attraction so I gave it another look, and this time it started to make sense.  I could look back over my life and see there was something about this law that I couldn’t dismiss.  I had grown and awakened enough to the information that I was ready to start taking this Law of Attraction thing seriously.

This was when I began to learn about letting go.  What?!  Let me tell you, when I first read that to attract something you have to let go of wanting it, I dismissed it (again) and put the books down.  Again.  How could that work?  How can I ever get the money I wanted and let go of wanting it?  It didn’t make sense so I put down those books and started looking in yet another direction.  I wasn’t ready to let go of wanting money because I wanted money!

Fast forward many more years.  I discovered and devoured books like Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz, The Greatest Secret in the World by Og Mandino, and The New Lead The Field by Earl Nightingale, and I started to realize that what I was after really wasn’t outside of me.  In fact, it was me!

I picked up the Law of Attraction books yet again and this time I didn’t put them down.  I didn’t immediately get it, but I didn’t stop trying to get it either.

Finally, years after I first heard about the Law of Attraction I believe I understand this letting go thing.  I sum it up like this: If You Want To See It Stop Looking.

Here’s why…

Wanting is negative energy.  Wanting something means you don’t have it.  If you’re looking for what you want it’s like saying you don’t have it so you need to find it.

You don’t want things you already have, you only want things you don’t have – – BUT you can’t attract things with a vibration that you don’t have it.  You attract things with the vibration of already having it.  So, letting go is about releasing the vibration of not having it.  Letting go is about releasing the vibration of wanting.  It’s actually pretty easy to do when you understand the rest of the equation:

Everything you will ever want is already yours.  The Bible says it, the great thinkers of the past wrote about it, science proves it, self-help gurus teach it, and everything about the Universe shows it so there can be no doubt.

Everything you will ever want is already yours.

That means there is never a need to “want” for things because they are already yours.  You can let go of the wanting and let go of the negative vibration of not having what you want.  When you let go and know that it is yours, your vibration is of having it already.  That is what attracts.  That is what manifests.

If you want to see it stop looking.

Predominant Thought

Predominant Thought – two words you should understand if you expect to have success with your intentional use of the Law of Attraction

One of the things you may have heard Law of Attraction teachers talk about is the idea that in order to attract something it needs to be your “predominant thought”.  What exactly does that mean?

Merriam-Webster online dictionary defines Predominant as:

  • Having superior strength, influence, or authority
  • Being most frequent or common.

So, a predominant thought is a thought that has superior strength, influence, or authority, being the most frequent or common.  In other words, take all of the things you think about during the day and the things you want to attract must be the  things you think of the most.  More than anything else.  The most frequent thought you have.

For example, lets say you get up around 7am, have breakfast and get ready for work, then work 8 hours, then come home and cook dinner, maybe watch some television, maybe go for a walk, and perhaps read before bed.  During that time you will have thousands of thoughts.  Experts estimate it could be as many as 50,000 or more.  During that time your most dominant, most frequent thought needs to be about whatever it is you intend on attracting.  With feeling.

Of course, you need to be conscious of other things during your day.  Your consciousness will continuously be drawn away from whatever you are thinking toward other things demanding your attention.  Without discipline (training) you will be distracted by many different circumstances and your predominant thoughts will be of other things.

The Good News – It’s Easier Than It Seems

With discipline (training) you will always be able to redirect your thoughts toward what you desire.  You will be able to bring your awareness back to right thinking any time you are distracted.  You will make your desires your predominant thought.

You can train yourself with repetition.  At first it may take some effort to get your thoughts back under control.  With practice it will become automatic.  Try , affirmations, visualization, or whatever works best for you to regain your focus throughout your day.  I personally use a timer on my iPod Touch to remind me every hour to pause and refocus.  I also use affirmations throughout my day and visualization to think my desires into existence.

Remember, you want to only think of and see your desires as already yours.  You also want to feel good as you do that.  Feel how it feels to already have everything you desire.  Feel good now.  Make those thoughts your predominant thoughts and you will attract whatever it is you desire.
