Intoku – Good Done In Secret

Earlier today an old classmate of mine indirectly told me about this, and as I told him, it immediately rang a bell inside me.  It instantly stuck me as something in perfect alignment with the things I believe.

I had to learn more about this and so then and there I started searching online for information.  Besides doing some necessary chores today it has consumed my day and I am happy for that.  Thanks Ken!

Intoku, as I understand it, is Japanese (noun) that means good done in secret, specifically the act of doing good secretly, for its own sake.

This is about doing something good and expecting nothing in return.  No thanks, no reward, no accolades, no nothing except the joy inside you for doing good.

This kind of action really speaks to the concept of you get what you give from and to the Universe.  I believe this is also the type of giving that most Law of Attraction teachers talk about – giving for the sake of giving because it feels good with no expectation of return.  It’s the kind of action that starts and keeps the flow of abundance going through you.

I have written in the past about gift giving and how, if it is truly a gift, you don’t need to hear “thank you” because the joy and gift of giving is the giving.

I have thought about this often as I see medical buildings donated and named after this wealthy person, or sports arenas named after that wealthy person, or charities named after the other wealthy person.  I’m sure most of us would get a thrill to see our name on something significant, something that betters society, and I certainly don’t fault them for what they have done.  A medical building donated with a name attached is as good as any, and surely better than nothing.  This, however, isn’t gift giving.  It’s trading.  They are trading money for a name on a building or bridge or charity.  Giving, in the spirit of Intoku, does not get a name attached.

There was a story today on the news about a “secret Santa” going to stores and paying off people’s lay away purchases without being named.  That is Intoku.  Whoever did this has not and hopefully will not step forward and say, “it was me” but rather will glow from inside knowing they have touched so many lives in a good way with a secret act of kindness.  Intoku.

Intoku Challenge:

I challenge you to do two things this holiday season…

Number one is to spread the word about this challenge so that more people read it and do it, and then…

Go do some good done in secret, and glow inside knowing you have brought more love into the Universe

Giggle Giggle

It makes me giggle a bit (just a bit) when I read or hear someone who teaches right thinking saying they are “sick and tired” of something.  When people use language like that it tells me there is some level of disconnect between what they teach and what they think.

Often when I see this it is just marketing, playing on your fears.  They are describing their own emotional reaction to something they think you are also emotionally reacting to.  They are trying to build rapport through a common bond – a common sales tactic I have used myself selling life insurance and securities.  You are not alone in whatever ails you and that, they think, creates the common bond which in turn makes it easier for them to sell you something.  We usually like people who are like us, even if the similarities are the negatives we feel and experience.  We buy from people we like.

But think about this… someone is going to try to sell you something to teach you how to not be sick and tired of things, yet they are sick and tired of things?  Isn’t that like your parents telling you as a child not to smoke and drink as they smoke and drink in front of you?

“The only thing more expensive than education is ignorance.”

Benjamin Franklin

It is my understanding that when you reach a certain level of awareness (or awakening) things outside of your own thoughts and focus do not make you sick and tired.  In fact, to me they kind of pass unnoticed or at least without the effect of making you sick and tired.

Of course, since I’ve noticed this and brought it to your attention means I may have just pulled you and I one step in the wrong direction.  Maybe.  I am by no means sick and tired of the hypocrisy but it sure does give me a giggle.

Turning Sadness Into Joy

How to turn the corner when you lose someone you love.

A few years ago my wife and I traveled to Chicago to see Esther, Jerry, and Abraham at a day-long seminar and it was an amazing experience.

I still listen to Jerry, Esther, and Abraham every week as part of my continuing education on feeling and sharing joy and love in life.

When we heard the other day that Jerry Hicks has left the physical world it hit me.  The sadness.  My wife said she got goose bumps when I told her.  Jerry’s physical presence in this life added so much value and gave so much more life to so many people searching for answers just as Jerry had done when he met Abraham many years ago.

No matter what we’ve learned on what we are and what really happens when we “die” it hits you with a touch of sadness to know that you can’t reach out and physically touch Jerry Hicks any more.

I know what it means to walk in life next to someone you love – someone who brings more life to life.  I know what it would mean to me to lose my wife, so I have a good idea what Esther must have felt to have him go.

At a time like this you really just want to lay down and cry.

My feeling is that it is okay to just lay down and cry.  Feel the sadness for the loss.  Say the things you would have said if he were there in front of you.  Thank you Jerry, for bringing more life to life.

Have your cry, then get up and turn that sadness into joy.  Know that Jerry is always as close as your willingness to think and feel.  You can always know he is right there nearby when Abraham speaks.  You can always still feel him bringing more life to life and smile as you feel the joy of his sharing.

Jerry is physically gone from this world but he will never be gone from life itself.

“Since 1985 it has been Jerry and Esther and Abraham and I believe with everything that I am that that has not changed. I know that Jerry will continue to be the third powerful point of the triad of Energy that makes up the Abraham experience and I am certain that his new vantage point will be, as it has always been, of advantage to us all.”

Esther Hicks

We love you Jerry!

Not New But Still True

The original edition of the Emerald Tablet, ex...

We live in a time when right thinking and truth are categorized as “new age” when in fact it is not by any means new to think that all of this that we call reality comes from thought, from within.

We exist in a Universe of the mind.  This is the truth of our existence.

“It is easier to perceive error than to find truth, for the former lies on the surface and is easily seen, while the latter lies in the depth, where few are willing to search for it.”

– Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Thousands of years ago Jesus walked the earth and taught that life comes from within and is possible because of a presence called God.  Thousand of years before Jesus there were ancient civilizations that flourished from the same ideals, this same truth:

  • There is a presence within humans that gave us and gives us life
  • Man has given this presence many different names (labels) and they all represent the same thing: a higher power
  • We can communicate with this higher power through our thoughts and feelings
  • This higher power communicates with us and guides us toward the physical creation of our thoughts and feelings

This is not new thinking.  This thinking was not introduced to the world in 2006 with the movie The Secret as you may have heard people say.  This way of thinking has been around for thousands of years, and it is truth.

Sometimes it seems like people don’t want to hear the truth and would rather take comfort in “feel good” sayings that miss the mark on the truth about life, but here goes…

Love is NOT supposed to hurt.

If you  are hurting and think its love, it’s not.  You’re doing it wrong.  I know songs and television and your friends and even your own experiences tell you that love stinks and love hurts, but that isn’t real.  That isn’t the truth.  It’s not the love that hurts, it’s turning away from love that hurts.

The Truth

Love is joy, happiness, sharing, giving, complimentary to every aspect of life, and love always feels good.  If you are hurting you are not loving.  Period.  At that moment you have taken your focus away from what you want (love) and have given your attention and energy to what you don’t what – and that is what hurts and why it hurts, but it isn’t love.

So please, if you hurt stop giving love a bad name.  Love never hurts.  Never.

Oh, and if you are hurting now take comfort in knowing I love you,  no matter who you are, no matter where you are, even if you think you don’t love me too.

Skeptics and Criticism

Intertitle from the Science Channel television...

Last night on the Science Channel I watched Through The Wormhole with Morgan Freeman (“Is There A Sixth Sense?”)

There was some fascinating insight into the work of Dr. Roger Nelson who began the Global Consciousness Project in 1998 as an attempt to detect possible interactions of “global consciousness” with physical systems.   This global consciousness also points to how we are all connected in the mind, but you knew that, didn’t you?

People have been writing about the Universal Mind or God Consciousness for years.  Since the 1800s research has been trying to prove if a sixth sense truly exists, and have looked for a scientific explanation for such abilities.  In 1912, Charles Haanel wrote about the Universal Mind:

“It is through the subconscious that we are all connected with the Universal Mind and brought into relation with the Infinite constructive forces of the Universe.”

Charles Haanel
Master Key System

There are those of us, myself included, who already know what science is trying to verify: the global consciousness is how we are all connected.  We are all connected.  We are one, pieces of the whole.  Science continues to prove this to be true despite the skeptics and criticism.

Check out the work of the Global Consciousness Project with an understanding that all advances at first have skeptics and criticism.  Jesus had and still has skeptics and criticism.  The idea that the world is not flat had skeptics.  The idea that we are all connected in the one Universal Mind will always have skeptics too.
